The Menagerie fish room has a full range of freshwater fish, saltwater fish, invertebrates and plants. We also have a good selection of supplies from the most popular and well-known manufacturers as well as a few not so well known. We endeavour to fit into our tiny little fish room a wide-ranging selection of aquatic creatures to distinguish ourselves from many of the “bigger” stores. With such a small area to sell from we try to focus on the types of things that are new and interesting and definitely on the smaller size! Our whole fish room is smaller than one aisle of some of the big box stores. If you're looking for an amazing giant fish room full of huge aquariums and tons of giant fish from the deepest darkest waters of the world then you will be greatly disappointed. We really don't have the space. We've had to make a few sacrifices to make our little fish room pretty diverse and we have a loyal group of customers to prove that point. We are a full line pet store and not just a fish store so if you think you're coming to a huge selection of fish because of something you read on the internet then we aren't for you. If you're looking for that tank mate for your piranha or something that's going to outgrow your 100 gallon aquarium then we aren't for you. We won't lie to you or sell you something you don't need and we may even tell you that you shouldn't be keeping that fish in such a small tank. We most definitely are not perfect and may miss that tiny bit of algae growing on the glass from time to time. We may be rough around the edges for some..... but we try.

The freshwater section is very small with around sixty aquariums. We have a good selection of fish from goldfish to gudgeons, dwarf cichlids to danios, a great selection of plants and an interesting array of freshwater invertebrates from snails to shrimp. We have always had a great following with aquarists looking for the unique and unusual and this continues to be our aim. Our marine section is very small as well but we always try to have something interesting. Quite popular with local hobbyists our selection of live aquarium plants is diverse and always changing. We try to stock rarities that other stores seldom import and other varieties that are new to the hobby. If you’re looking for something different for your aquarium we may just have it.

The Menagerie’s fish room is small but that doesn’t mean we don’t have what you need for your aquarium. We have a great selection of supplies from nearly every major manufacturer available in Canada. We stock most major brands of filters, heaters, air pumps, décor, supplements, water conditioners lighting and anything else you can think of to keep an aquarium looking great and your fish healthy. If we don't have it we can probably get it. If you want cheap then look online. We aren't a big store so we don't have the buying power of a 20 location chain. Most of our customers come from the local area around downtown Toronto and this is where our focus lies. We certainly love all of our customers from outside Toronto as well and have regulars who visit from as far away as Sault Ste Marie.

The fish room receives shipments of fish and plants weekly. The arrival times change on occasion but for the most part Thursday and Friday are arrival days. The shipments that arrive Thursday are usually from outside Canada and because of this we will not sell the new arrivals until the next day. The list of new arrivals will be posted on the website every week whenever possible as well as an updated stock list of our plants.
